What Is a Land Title Search?

A land title search is an examination of all registered documents associated with a specific property in Ontario's Land Registry Office (LRO). It reveals the history of ownership, encumbrances, liens, mortgages, easements, and any other interests that may affect the land.

In Ontario, land title searches are conducted through the Teranet / Teraview system, which provides access to the parcel register, registered documents, and surveying records for every property in the province, identified by a unique Property Identification Number (PIN).
